        "content": "<p>The Bawen-Ambarawa toll road segment will be opened for functional\noperation during the Eid holiday traffic period. The section is\nscheduled to be operational from 13-30 March 2026. The functional\nopening is expected to ease traffic congestion at Bawen Junction in\nSemarang Regency, Central Java.<\/p>\n<p>Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that ahead of the Eid\nholiday exodus, several national highways will be functionalised,\nincluding segments within the Trans-Java Toll Road. \u201cThere are two\nfunctional openings: first is Bawen-Ambarawa which is planned to extend\nto Yogyakarta. Then there is the Solo-Yogyakarta section up to\nPrambanan,\u201d he said on Thursday (12 April 2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Luthfi, the functional opening of these two toll\nsegments will help manage vehicle flow during peak periods. \u201cWe are\nopening these functionally to prevent blackspot and trouble spots. Bawen\nis usually congested during peak holiday traffic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>However, because signage installation and lighting on both toll\nsegments remain incomplete, the functional operation will not run 24\nhours. \u201cSince the signage and lighting are not yet fully installed, the\nfunctional operation is not a full 24 hours, only until 5 pm,\u201d said\nLuthfi.<\/p>\n<p>The Bawen-Ambarawa toll segment opened for functional operation\nduring the holiday exodus is Lane A, running from Bawen to Ambarawa.\nDuring the return journey, Lane B (Ambarawa-Bawen) will also be opened\nfor functional operation. The toll segment stretches approximately 4.98\nkilometres, extending from Bawen toll exit to Ambarawa toll exit.<\/p>",
