The Bawen toll exit junction represents a\ncongestion point during peak homecoming traffic each year.<\/p>\n<p>The Bawen-Yogyakarta toll route section 6 will open temporarily from\n13 to 30 March 2026. \u201cTo reduce the occurrence of black spots and\ntrouble spots. Usually during peak homecoming traffic, the Bawen area\nbecomes very congested,\u201d said Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi on\nTuesday, 10 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Bawen-Ambarawa toll road extends 4.98 kilometres. The toll\nconnects the Bawen toll exit junction and Kupang Village in Ambarawa\nDistrict, Semarang Regency.<\/p>\n<p>The functional opening is planned to commence on the Bawen-Ambarawa\nroute from 13 March 2026. The return route will begin from 15 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>The functional opening of this route will operate during daytime only\nowing to limited signage. \u201cOperating hours will run from 06:00 to\n17:00,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>During peak homecoming traffic, vehicles heading towards Magelang and\nYogyakarta will be directed to exit at Ambarawa, thereby reducing\ncongestion at the Bawen toll exit.<\/p>",
