Batman's car displayed here<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Batman fans can now have a close look at the
\noriginal Batmobile from the film Batman Forever, which is
\ncurrently being screened in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
PT Matahari Putra Prima, the license holder for Batman
\nproducts in Indonesia, shipped the Batmobile from Australia for
\ndisplay at the company's department stores.<\/p>\n
The license for Batman products was obtained by Matahari from
\nWarner Bros Consumer Products company in Hong Kong. The products
\nconsist of various products such as T-shirts, caps, bags, towels
\nand stationery.<\/p>\n
Nubertus M. Wirawan, head of Matahari product development,
\nsaid that the Batmobile is currently on display at Metropolitan
\nMall in Bekasi until Sept. 10, after which it will be sent to
\nSurabaya for display at Galeria Plaza from Sept. 12 to 20. The
\ncar was on display at Citraland Mall from Aug. 29 to Sept. 3.<\/p>\n
Nubertus said that the display of the car is part of the ASEAN
\npromotion tour to bring the Batman figure closer to his fans.<\/p>\n
"The Batman car is made of carbon fiber, the same material
\nused for the manufacture of Formula One cars and F-16 fighter
\njets. The car, which was produced at a cost of Rp 750 million
\n(US$340,909), has a maximum speed of 500 kilometers per hour," he
