        "content": "<p>The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development\nhas stated that Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri), is being prepared to become\none of the national aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO)\ncentres in Indonesia. Rustam Efendi, Secretariat of the Deputy for\nConnectivity Coordination at the ministry, said the MRO hub concept aims\nto strengthen the aviation industry and support connectivity. \u201cThe\npriority is to make several places MRO hubs. Among them are Batam,\nJakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar. To build the hub, connectivity is\nimportant: how to integrate seaports with airports and industrial\ncentres, including MRO,\u201d he said at the \u201cIndonesia MRO Summit\u201d (IMROS)\nin Batam on Tuesday. He explained that the Coordinating Ministry for\nInfrastructure plays a role in coordinating various cross-sector\npolicies to ensure the flow of goods and logistics runs more\nefficiently. \u201cIn Kepri, the ministry\u2019s task is to support the efforts\nalready made by technical ministries and institutions, in order to\ncreate effective and efficient accessibility and connectivity,\u201d said\nRustam.
