        "content": "<p>Basarnas Chief Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Syafii said during a press\nconference on Thursday that the search window aligns with International\nAeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>On the third day of operations, joint search forces intensified\nefforts across agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing the operation. Referring to the IAMSAR guidelines,\nthis operation will be carried out consecutively for seven days. And on\nthe seventh day, we will hold an evaluation meeting involving all\nparties,\u201d Syafii explained.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the maritime search zone expanded to six sectors, up\nfrom three on the first day and five on the second day.<\/p>\n<p>To expedite operations, the joint team deployed 11 major vessels from\nthe Indonesian Navy, Maritime Police (Polairud), Basarnas, and\nsupporting agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis force is supported by over 300 core personnel on standby at the\ncommand post and in the field,\u201d Syafii added.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to maximizing search\nefforts under Law Number 29 of 2014 concerning Search and Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sincerely hope to locate and rescue the missing persons as soon\nas possible and ensure their safety. The government is giving priority\nto their prompt discovery and evacuation,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>The journalists departed aboard a speedboat from Pagedongan Port in\nCarita, Pandeglang District, on Sept.\u00a07 at 2:00 p.m. local time to cover\nvolcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau.<\/p>\n<p>One journalist transmitted a final location ping at 2:42 p.m., before\nall communication with the vessel ceased at 3:04 p.m. Their whereabouts\nhave remained unknown since then.<\/p>\n<p>The joint SAR team subsequently established a search grid surrounding\nthe coordinates of the final transmission.<\/p>\n<p>The five missing journalists were identified as M. Bagus Khoirunnas\nof ANTARA, Ari Basuki of Merdeka, Yudhis of iNews, Daus of Anadolu\nAgency, and freelance journalist Donal.
