        "content": "<p>Pandeglang (ANTARA) - The National Search and Rescue Agency\n(Basarnas) has ensured that the search and rescue (SAR) operation for a\ngroup of journalists who lost contact in the waters of the Sunda Strait,\nPandeglang, Banten, while covering activities at Mount Anak Krakatau,\nwill be optimised for seven days.<\/p>\n<p>Basarnas Head, Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii, stated during a press\nconference in Pandeglang on Thursday that this decision aligns with the\nInternational Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR)\ninternational guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>He added that up to the third day of the search operation, the\ndeployment of joint forces continues to be intensified massively and in\ncoordination with various cross-agency elements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe operation continues. Referring to the IAMSAR guidelines, this\noperation will be carried out consecutively for seven days. On the\nseventh day, we will conduct an evaluation meeting involving all\nparties,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>He further explained that the maritime search area is currently being\nexpanded to six sectors, an increase from three sectors on the first day\nand five sectors on the second day.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, to support the acceleration of this operation, the\njoint SAR team has deployed at least 11 primary vessels from various\nelements, including Indonesian Navy warships (KRI), Indonesian National\nPolice maritime patrol boats, Basarnas vessels, and supporting vessels\nfrom other SAR potential contributors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis force is supported by more than 300 core personnel on standby\nat both command posts and in the field,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the Head of Basarnas emphasised that the government\nis committed to maximising the search process based on the provisions of\nLaw Number 29 of 2014 concerning Search and Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sincerely hope to find them soon and be able to rescue them\nsafely. The government is giving special attention to the efforts to\nensure they are found and can be evacuated,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
