        "content": "<p>Basarnas is continuing the search for victims of the KM Virgo\nTransport 8, which sank in the waters of the Java Sea, South Kalimantan.\nToday, divers from the Basarnas Special Group (BSG) discovered two\nvictims inside the vessel.<\/p>\n<p>Basarnas Head, M. Syafii, stated that the search operations commenced\nthis morning. The two victims are currently in the process of being\nevacuated to Banjarmasin Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth victims, who are male, were found inside the ship during the\nBSG team\u2019s search and diving operations, at 09:04 WITA and 09:13 WITA\nrespectively,\u201d Syafii said in a statement on Monday (21\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Syafii noted that the discovery of these two victims represents a\nsignificant development in the ongoing SAR (Search and Rescue)\noperations to locate and evacuate all victims of the KM Virgo Transport\n8. The search and evacuation process continues at maximum capacity,\ndeploying all available personnel and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing our utmost efforts to find and evacuate the\nvictims. Today\u2019s discovery of two victims is a result of the hard work\nof all elements of the Joint SAR team. We ensure that every victim found\nis immediately evacuated and handled according to procedure,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the two victims will first be transported to\nBanjarmasin Airport using Helicopter HR 3601, before being handed over\nto their families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival at Banjarmasin Airport, the two victims will be handed\nover to the relevant authorities for identification and further\nhandling,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
