The Jakarta Provincial Government has added barriers or concrete\nblocks to the park area beneath the Pesing flyover in West Jakarta. This\naction has been taken to prevent motorcyclists from performing\nunauthorised U-turns.<\/p>\n
Observations at the location on Thursday (1 October 2026) showed that\nthe addition of the concrete barriers took place around 11:00 WIB.\nOfficers from the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-department (Sudinhub)\nwere seen placing the additional concrete in areas frequently used by\nmotorcyclists to turn around.<\/p>\n
Six concrete barriers were installed, and the park area is also being\nrepaired after being damaged by motorcycles driving over it.<\/p>\n
Nursyam, a member of the West Jakarta Sudinhub Operational Team,\nstated that the closure was implemented due to the high number of\nmotorcyclists performing U-turns. He noted that accidents had previously\noccurred when riders attempted to cut across the park area by turning\ndirectly from the direction of Jalan Kedoya Pesing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was an accident involving a vehicle that turned here (towards\nthe park) to cut through from there, which was dangerous because they\nwere crossing directly into this path,\u201d said Nurslam.<\/p>\n
He added that the effectiveness of the additional concrete barriers\nwill be reviewed. He expressed hope that the barriers would successfully\nprevent motorcyclists from making illegal turns.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Parks Department will later landscape the area.
