Barito reports fire<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Fire has damaged one of PT Barito Pacific
\nTimber's wood mills on Mangole Island in Maluku, forcing its
\nblockboard plant to cut production by 1,000 cubic meters a month.<\/p>\n
Barito Pacific, a publicly-listed company controlled by
\nPrajogo Pangestu, announced yesterday that the fire hit one of
\nthe mills owned by PT Mangole Timber Producers on July 21.<\/p>\n
The company expects the damaged dry-kiln equipment to be
\nrepaired within three months so the blockboard plant can resume
\nnormal production.<\/p>\n
Barito Pacific said the production of plywood and other
\nprocessed wood at Mangole Timber was not affected by the fire.<\/p>\n
The company also assured its shareholders that the cut in
\nblockboard production at Mangole would not affect the total
\noutput of the Barito Pacific Group because it can be offset by
\nthe mills owned by other Barito subsidiaries.<\/p>\n
The Barito Pacific Group, which controls plywood and
\nblockboard plants in Kalimantan, South Sumatra and Maluku, is the
\ncountry's largest single producer of plywood. (04)<\/p>",
