        "content": "<p>The Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the\nNational Police\u2019s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has\nonce again uncovered a suspected smuggling case of goods from abroad.\nThis time, Dittipideksus Bareskrim Polri thwarted the smuggling of\ngarlic and Bombay onions.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information received by detikcom on Friday (17\/4\/2026), the\nsearch was conducted by the Law Enforcement Task Force (Gakkum) for\nSmuggling of the Special Economic Crimes Unit of Bareskrim Polri at two\nlocations in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan (Kalbar).<\/p>\n<p>At both locations, the Gakkum Task Force for Smuggling of the Special\nEconomic Crimes Unit of Bareskrim Polri seized dozens of tonnes of\nillegal imported onions. The onions were stored in large sacks.<\/p>\n<p>In photos received by detikcom, Bombay onions, garlic, and shallots\nseized by officers are visible. The dozens of tonnes of onions were\narranged on shelves in the raided warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>The first raid took place at Jalan Budi Karya, Pontianak Selatan\nSubdistrict, Pontianak City. Police lines were set up at the shelves\nstoring various types of onions in the warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>The second raid was conducted at Jalan Budi Karya, Pontianak Square\nComplex, Benuamelayu Ward, Pontianak Selatan Subdistrict, Pontianak\nCity. At the second location, sacks containing Bombay onions, garlic,\nand shallots seized by the Gakkum Task Force for Smuggling of the\nSpecial Economic Crimes Unit of Bareskrim Polri were visible.<\/p>\n<p>Thwarting Smuggling of Illegal Imported Mobile Phones<\/p>\n<p>A few days earlier, the Dittipideksus Bareskrim Polri team uncovered\nsuspected smuggling of illegal imported mobile phones (HP). The\nBareskrim team seized thousands of illegal HP after raiding five\nlocations.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information received by detikcom on Wednesday (15\/4), the\nsearches by the Gakkum Task Force for Smuggling of the Special Economic\nCrimes Unit of Bareskrim Polri were conducted in Penjaringan, North\nJakarta (Jakut), and Cengkareng, West Jakarta (Jakbar). From the\nsearches of the five locations, officers secured tens of thousands of\nillegal imported HP. The locations were:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><p>A warehouse located at Jalan Kapuk Kayu Besar, Kamal Muara Ward,\nPenjaringan Subdistrict, Jakut,<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>A search was also conducted at a shophouse on Jalan Pantai Indah\nBarat, Kamal Muara Ward, Penjaringan.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>The Bareskrim Task Force raided an office located at Jalan Pluit\nKarang Cantik, Pluit Ward, Penjaringan Subdistrict, Jakut.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Police raided a shophouse at Jalan Ruko Mutiara Palem Raya,\nCengkareng,<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>A search at a shophouse located at Jalan Boulevard Raya,\nCengkareng, Jakbar.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Follow-up to the President\u2019s Directive<\/p>\n<p>The uncovering of these smuggling cases is a follow-up to President\nPrabowo Subianto\u2019s directive on preventing smuggling, as it harms state\nfinances. The directive was given by President Prabowo to TNI Commander\nGeneral Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit\nPrabowo, and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur work is still heavy, the journey is still long, leaks are still\noccurring, smuggling is still happening. TNI Commander-Police\nChief-Finance Minister, you have institutions tasked with stopping\nsmuggling; use all the authority you have to enforce that,\u201d said Prabowo\nin his speech at the Attorney General\u2019s Office on Friday (10\/4).<\/p>\n<p>He also urged other institutions at all levels to cooperate,\nespecially in upholding the law.<\/p>",
