        "content": "<p>Bareskrim\u2019s Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) is\ncontinuing its investigation into alleged illegal mobile phone imports\nfrom China. Recently, investigators have named two new company directors\nas suspects in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Bareskrim\u2019s Directorate of Special Economic Crimes Chief Brigadier\nGeneral Ade Safri Simanjuntak revealed that the two new suspects are\nleaders of PT TSI and PT TSL. The suspect designations followed the\ncollection of five pieces of evidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigators have again named two new suspects in this case, namely\nTW, who is the director of PT TSI, and MT, the director of PT TSL,\u201d Ade\nSafri stated in a statement on Friday, May 29, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTW and MT were designated as suspects based on investigation facts\nsupported by five pieces of evidence, including witness statements,\nexpert testimony, documents, physical evidence, and electronic\nevidence,\u201d Ade Safri, who is also the Law Enforcement Coordinator of the\nSmuggling Task Force, explained.<\/p>\n<p>On another front, Ade Safri said authorities have also imposed travel\nbans on TW and MT to facilitate the investigation. \u201cInvestigators have\ncoordinated with the Directorate General of Immigration under the\nMinistry of Law and Human Rights to prevent the two suspects from\nleaving the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, Bareskrim had already named two suspects in\nthis case, identified as DCP (alias PT) and SJ. This brings the total\nnumber of suspects to four in the illegal import scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Ade Safri stressed that the Smuggling Task Force Law Enforcement Team\nis intensively developing the case. Police are mapping the entry routes\nand distribution networks of the illegal goods.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Ade Safri confirmed that they will trace the money trail\nto investigate potential money laundering. \u201cWe ensure this case is\nhandled professionally, transparently, and accountably, including\ntracking illicit funds and hidden assets obtained by perpetrators and\nthose who benefited,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ade Safri reiterated the police\u2019s commitment to tightening\nsurveillance at all Indonesian entry points\u2014sea, land, and air\u2014to\nsafeguard national economic stability and protect domestic industries\nfrom illegal imports. \u201cThis law enforcement action demonstrates the\nIndonesian National Police\u2019s concrete commitment to maintaining national\neconomic stability and ensuring all import activities comply with\napplicable laws,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects face charges under Article 111 in conjunction with\nArticle 47(1) of Law No.\u00a07 of 2014 on Trade, and Article 20 and\/or\nArticle 21(1) of Law No.\u00a01 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.<\/p>",
