Indonesia\u2019s Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dirtipidnarkoba) of the\nNational Police\u2019s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri)\nhas dismantled an ecstasy distribution operation at a nightclub in\nDenpasar, Bali. In this operation, police arrested three individuals and\nseized hundreds of ecstasy pills.<\/p>\n
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, head of Dirtipidnarkoba Bareskrim\nPolri, explained that the discovery began with public information\nregarding drug distribution activities that had been occurring for some\ntime at a nightclub in Denpasar. Based on this intelligence, a combined\nteam led by Sub-directorate IV Commander Kombes Handik Zusen and the NIC\nTask Force led by Kombes Kevin Leleury traced the illegal operation.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Saturday, 14 March 2026 at approximately 21:30 Western Indonesian\nTime, the team conducted an undercover operation posing as visitors and\nordered VIP Room 2 (Karaoke Room),\u201d Eko stated on Monday\n(16\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
Early on Sunday morning, the team conducted an undercover purchase,\nordering 12 ecstasy pills from a waiter. The items were then forwarded\nto the Captain Room, Muhammad Rokip (27), who was immediately\napprehended whilst inside the room.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Sunday, 15 March 2026 at approximately 00:30 Western Indonesian\nTime, undercover personnel conducted a purchase by ordering 12 ecstasy\npills from the waiter serving in VIP Room 2,\u201d Eko explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe waiter then relayed the order to the Captain Room named Muhammad\nRokip, who subsequently entered VIP Room 2 to process the order,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n
From Rokip, police recovered 38 pink \u2018LV\u2019 branded ecstasy pills and\n600 additional ecstasy pills from inside his motorcycle seat.<\/p>\n
The investigation then extended to waiter I Gusti Bagus Adi Pramana\n(41), who had previously received the drug order. From interrogation, it\nwas revealed that the narcotics had been obtained from New Star Club\nManager I Wayan Subawa (27).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team then apprehended I Wayan Subawa as the club manager.\nAccording to interrogation results, I Wayan Subawa stated that the drug\ndistribution was conducted by an individual named Opik (fugitive) and\nhis associates,\u201d Eko stated.<\/p>\n
It was found that Opik and his associates were not official club\nstaff. However, they frequently remained in the parking area and\ndistributed narcotics to club visitors.<\/p>\n
Eko explained that the contraband was delivered by a courier who\nalways wore a helmet and mask, then placed near a water pump in the\nparking area. The distributor retrieved the items and distributed them\nto visitors through VIP Room orders or direct requests.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the items were distributed, the money from drug sales was then\nplaced back at the water pump location (attachment system).\nSubsequently, the money was collected by the operational management for\ninspection and accounting,\u201d Eko disclosed.<\/p>\n
Three individuals were designated as suspects in this case: Muhammad\nRokip, I Wayan Subawa and I Gusti Bagus Adi Pramana. Police also\ndesignated six individuals as fugitives: Opik, Fernandi, Nadir, Andika,\nAnta and I Dewa Ketut Wiranida.<\/p>\n
Beyond apprehending the suspects, police conducted searches of\nvisitors. Of the 43 individuals apprehended, comprising 28 men and 15\nwomen, preliminary urine tests indicated 24 men and 13 women tested\npositive for drug use.<\/p>\n
Police then collaborated with the Bali Provincial Narcotics Agency\n(BNNP Bali) for further assessment to determine dependency levels and\nclarify the visitors\u2019 roles \u2013 whether as drug users or linked to the\ndistribution network.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team subsequently coordinated with BNNP Bali to conduct an\nassessment through the Integrated Assessment Team (TAT) mechanism to\ndetermine dependency levels and the role of the visitors in the\nnarcotics case, whether as substance abusers requiring rehabilitation or\nthose indicating involvement in drug distribution,\u201d Eko added.<\/p>\n
In this operation, police seized 638 ecstasy pills of various brands\nand colours, cash totalling Rp19.3 million from the karaoke room and\nRp170,000 from the parking area, along with several mobile phones,\nwallets, motorcycle keys, vehicle registration documents and ATM\ncards.<\/p>\n
Eko stated that drug distribution at this location was conducted in a\nstructured manner. Additionally, the club management knew of the drug\ndistribution activities and received a share of the proceeds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe distribution of ecstasy at this club was conducted in a\nstructured manner, utilising the nightclub facility as a distribution\nchannel to visitors,\u201d Eko said.<\/p>\n
Consequently, the force will continue investigating the possible\ninvolvement of other parties.
