The Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) has\npartnered with the Tanoto Foundation to encourage the younger generation\nto play an active role in development.<\/p>\n
According to reports from RRI, the Director of Religion, Culture,\nYouth, and Sports at Bappenas, Didik Darmanto, stated that direct field\nexperience is essential for shaping future leaders. He noted that young\npeople need to understand societal issues and build networks, while also\nbeing able to work across sectors to produce sustainable impacts.<\/p>\n
\u201cContributions do not have to start with something large. In fact, we\ncan start from local movements that have very real impacts, from the\nsmallest points around us,\u201d said Didik in a written statement on Monday\n(14\/9).<\/p>\n
Didik made these remarks during the Tanoto Foundation Fellowship\nProgramme Cohort 2025 Graduation in Jakarta recently. A total of 10\nTanoto Fellows from the 2025 Cohort have completed a one-year field\nassignment in various regions across Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
During their assignment, they were involved in various educational\nprojects alongside local governments, communities, and other\nstakeholders. These programmes focused on strengthening literacy and\nnumeracy, early childhood education, and the development of learning\nmaterials based on local contexts.<\/p>\n
Didik assessed that this experience serves as capital for the younger\ngeneration to understand community needs more closely. \u201cThe Fellows were\nable to engage directly for one year, allowing them to gain social\ncapital, networks, and the ability to understand the socio-cultural\naspects of society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that this experience could be applied when the\nFellows return to their respective professional environments and\ncommunities.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of Learning Environment at the Tanoto Foundation,\nM. Ari Widowati, stated that the experience gained during the programme\nshould be continued through tangible contributions. \u201cThis fellowship is\nnot just about what we gain from the programme, but also about what we\ncan do with what we have learned,\u201d said Ari.<\/p>\n
According to him, the end of the fellowship period does not mean the\nlearning and contribution process of the participants stops. \u201cI hope our\nfriends continue to bring the spirit of learning and collaboration,\nwhile providing contributions wherever they may be,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He noted that developing young talent is part of the effort to\nprepare Indonesia\u2019s human resources to face future development\nchallenges. Through field experience, the younger generation is expected\nto have the ability to view problems holistically and build solutions\nthat meet community needs.<\/p>\n
For the 10 Tanoto Fellows of the 2025 Cohort, the one-year experience\nserves as preparation to continue their contributions through their\nrespective professions and communities.
