        "content": "<p>&apos;Bappenas must be dissolved&apos;<\/p>\n<p>PURWOKERTO, Central Java (JP): Former finance minister Fuad<br>\nBawazier called on the government on Monday to dissolve the<br>\nNational Development Planning Board (Bappenas) because it had<br>\nfailed to carry out its function.<\/p>\n<p>He said Bappenas had pushed the government to obtain overseas<br>\nloans to finance the development of its projects, many of which<br>\nwere not correctly planned and had consequently failed in their<br>\nimplementation.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Bappenas has simply squandered government funds. The<br>\ngovernment has lost between 30 percent and 50 percent of the<br>\nloans it got from overseas to finance Bappenas&apos; faulty projects,&quot;<br>\nFuad said on the sidelines of a seminar on the economy held at<br>\nGen.
