Bappenas clarifies<\/p>\n

With reference to the article in Media Indonesia on Sept 5,
\n1995, entitled : Test TOEFL di Bappenas mengecewakan (TOEFL test
\nin Bappenas disappointing) we would like to clarify the matter.<\/p>\n
* The test was held to select would-be scholarship receivers
\nunder OTO Bappenas (overseas training program of the National
\nDevelopment Planning Board). But because of the big demand for
\nTest of Academic Potential and TOEFL, we provide opportunities to
\nthe public, including those from the outer regions to take the
\ntest.<\/p>\n
* The Rp 45,000 fee collected from each participant for the
\nTOEFL test can be broken down as follows: The test book costs Rp
\n38,000. the remaining Rp 7,000 is used for hiring the room, sound
\nsystem, supervision fees and for sending back the test results.<\/p>\n
* The sound system was checked twice, a day before the test
\nand a few moments before the test. We found that the sound system
\nwas OK. Prior to the test, participants were consulted on the
\nquality of the sound system, and they had no problem.<\/p>\n
* However, we would like to thank the writer. We would like to
\nassure the public that we will have a better way of selecting
\npotential applicants in the future.<\/p>\n
