Bapepam okays names for JSX directors<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam)
\nyesterday approved three possible boards of directors for the
\nJakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) as well as one board of
\ncommissioners.<\/p>\n
An informed source at the JSX told The Jakarta Post yesterday
\nthat Mohammad Latuconsina, Cyrill Nurkhadi and Yannes Naibaho
\nwere approved as the heads of their respective boards and Fuad
\nBawazir as the only candidate for chief commissioner.<\/p>\n
The new board of directors, consisting of one president and
\nthree directors, and the board of commissioners will be elected
\nby exchange members next week.<\/p>\n
The board of Fuad, who is also director general of taxation,
\nconsists of President Soeharto's daughter Titik Prabowo, Rosano
\nBarrack, Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas and Rini M.S. Suwandhi.<\/p>\n
Rosano Barrack is vice chairman of the Bimantara Group and the
\nnewly-elected chairman of the Indonesian Public Companies
\nAssociation. Erry Riyana is president of PT Tambang Timah, while
\nRini is the finance director of PT Astra International.<\/p>\n
Rini is the only one of the current JSX commissioners to be
\nre-nominated.<\/p>\n
Latuconsina is now a director of the PT Pasaraya retail chain.
\nHis team consists of Stanislaus Say, presently a JSX director,
\nSofian Jalil, a research director at the Ministry of Finance's
\nCenter for Policy and Implementation Studies, and Indra Savitri
\nfrom the Savitri and Motik law firm.<\/p>\n
Cyrill is president of the Indonesian Securities Clearing and
\nDepository (PT KDEI) company. His team consists of two current
\nJSX directors -- Mas Achmad Daniri and Felia Salim -- and Edwin
\nStambul, a Surabaya Stock Exchange commissioner.<\/p>\n
On the board of Naibaho, who is also president of PT Usaha
\nBersama Securities, are Harry Wiguna, an executive of a local
\nsecurities company, Ery Firmansyah, the managing director of PT
\nLippo City, and Nasrun Yasabari, a legal consultant.<\/p>\n
A JSX director, Stanislaus Say, said yesterday that only 182
\nof the 197 securities companies registered on the JSX will be
\nallowed to vote in the election.<\/p>\n
\"The other 15 are now on temporary suspension for various
\nreasons. But all of them are invited to the annual shareholders
\nmeeting next week,\" Stanislaus said. (08)<\/p>",
