        "content": "<p>Banyuwangi, East Java, has been presented as a model for marine\nnature tourism management to ASEAN and Pacific countries during the\nASEAN-ID Blue event. The ASEAN-ID Blue is an international forum that\nbrings together ASEAN, Pacific, and partner countries to share\nexperiences in blue economy development, held in Banyuwangi over two\ndays. The Economic Diplomacy Expert Staff at the Ministry of Foreign\nAffairs, Zelda Wulan Kartika, stated that Banyuwangi was chosen as the\nhost because of its achievements in marine management. She noted that\nthe sea is managed not only for regional economic growth but also to\nimprove community welfare by involving them in managing and preserving\nthe marine environment. New Zealand\u2019s Ambassador to ASEAN, Joanna\nAnderson, remarked that Banyuwangi shares similarities with New Zealand,\nwhere many coastal communities depend on the sea for their livelihoods\nand food security. Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani expressed\ngratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for selecting Banyuwangi as\nthe host of the ASEAN-ID Blue forum. She said the forum is an excellent\nopportunity to strengthen Banyuwangi\u2019s marine management practices,\nespecially given the region\u2019s extensive coastline. The ASEAN-ID Blue was\ninitiated by Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of\nMarine Affairs and Fisheries, in cooperation with New Zealand\u2019s Ministry\nof Foreign Affairs and Trade. During the event in Banyuwangi, in\naddition to discussions on marine management, delegates also directly\nexplored local marine potential, including visits to the Merah Putih\nFishermen\u2019s Village and Bangsring Underwater.<\/p>",
