        "content": "<p>Purwokerto (ANTARA) - Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono believes\nthat restricting social media use for children can create a safer\ndigital space, in line with the implementation of the Child Protection\nin the Digital Realm Act by the central government.<\/p>\n<p>The Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency,\nCentral Java, on Saturday, said that the regional administration is\npreparing policies to support the implementation of the aforementioned\nact along with its derivative regulations, including Government\nRegulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in\nChild Protection (PP Tunas) and Minister of Communication and Digital\nRegulation Number 9 of 2026 in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are discussing it, we are deliberating it. I cannot decide alone\nbecause it is a new matter from the centre,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the social media usage restriction policy has the\npotential to suppress various risks faced by children in the digital\nworld, such as exposure to negative content, cyberbullying, and\ninteractions inappropriate for their age.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that the phenomenon of social media misuse involving\nchildren also occurs in Banyumas, thus requiring measured anticipatory\nsteps.<\/p>\n<p>He hopes that with the existence of this act, child protection can be\nstrengthened through policies that are not only developmental but also\naccompanied by law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is hoped that with this act, we can take firm actions, not just\ndiscipline, but also legal enforcement,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
