The Banyumas Regency Government, Central Java, has declared its\nreadiness for the implementation of the Junior High School Student\nAdmission System (SPMB) for the 2026\/2027 academic year. To ensure\nsmooth operations, the local government has updated the registration\nsystem and strengthened information technology infrastructure to\nanticipate technical issues.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Banyumas Regency Education Office, Widodo Sugiri,\naccompanied by the SPMB Committee Chair, Wahyu Adhi Fibrianto, presented\nthese preparations during a press conference at the Ki Hajar Dewantara\nHall, Wednesday (3\/6).<\/p>\n
One of the fundamental changes in this year\u2019s admissions is the\nseparation of the account creation schedule from the school registration\nschedule. According to Wahyu Adhi, this step was taken to minimise\nserver load and prevent downtime, which frequently occurred in previous\nyears. \u201cUnder the previous system, account creation and registration\nwere done simultaneously, resulting in very high server loads. This\nyear, prospective students will create accounts and complete their data\nfirst. Once registration opens, they will simply select their target\nschools without needing to re-upload documents,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
The Banyumas Government has also refined the residency-based pathway.\nPreviously consisting of only two categories, it has now been expanded\nto four. This new policy includes the specific RW (community unit)\nclosest to the school as a primary consideration. This measure aims to\naccommodate students who are geographically very close to a school but\nare hindered by village or sub-district administrative boundaries. \u201cNow,\nthe nearest RW areas are accommodated, ensuring that the principle of\nfairness for residents near schools is maintained,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
For the 2026\/2027 academic year, there are 73 state junior high\nschools in Banyumas ready to accommodate 15,552 new students. A total of\n486 study groups are available, with a maximum capacity of 32 students\nper class.<\/p>\n
Regarding technological readiness, the Head of the Banyumas\nCommunication and Informatics Office (Kominfo), Budi Nugroho, stated\nthat they have increased server capacity and strengthened data security\nsystems. Kominfo has also coordinated with PLN (the state electricity\ncompany) to ensure power stability during the registration period. \u201cWe\nare optimistic that with the increased server capacity and new traffic\nmanagement, the registration process will run more smoothly and stably\ncompared to last year,\u201d Budi concluded.<\/p>\n
