Another Marriott suspect detained<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: National Police deputy spokesman Brig. Gen. Soenarko
\nsaid on Monday the police had transferred a suspect in the JW
\nMarriott Hotel bombing Amran bin Mansur, alias Andi Saputra to
\nthe Jakarta Police for investigation.<\/p>\n
However, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Prasetyo declined
\nto confirm Soenarko's statement.<\/p>\n
Amran, a Malaysian national, is suspected of taking part in
\nthe hotel bombing on Aug. 6 last year. He was arrested in the
\nCentral Java town, Surakarta, on Feb. 26 of this year.<\/p>\n
"We suspect his role in the bombing as one of the suppliers of
\nthe explosive materials," he said.<\/p>\n
Previously the police identified Amran as Dahlan.<\/p>\n
Soenarko said the arrest followed a tipoff from two other
\nsuspects, Tohir and Ismail, who are now being detained.<\/p>\n
Two main suspects involved in the hotel bombing, Dr. Azahari
\nand Nurdin Moh. Top, are still at large. -- JP<\/p>",
