        "content": "<p>Banner war outside palace<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: The United Development Party (PPP) and Golkar are<br>\nembroiled in a war of banners outside Sultan Hamengku Buwono X's<br>\npalace.<\/p>\n<p>PPP fired the first shot last week when it erected a large<br>\nposter, reading \"The beloved Sultan is for PPP\" in a refined<br>\nJavanese language.<\/p>\n<p>The next day, Golkar placed its own banner, of about the same<br>\nsize, saying \"People in and around the palace must vote Golkar\"<br>\nin the same dialect.<\/p>\n<p>Enraged, PPP supporters fixed another banner, reading \"Common<br>\npeople living on the sultan's land (around the palace) will vote<br>\nPPP\".<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, royal security guards became exasperated<br>\nwith the war of words when PPP scribbled, \"The Sultan is for PPP\"<br>\non a palace fence.
