        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The banking sector has assured that customer\nfunds remain safe and are managed prudently amid banks\u2019 involvement in\nsupporting the government\u2019s priority programmes in line with regulator\ndirectives.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Secretary of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk or BTN,\nRamon Armando, emphasised that the bank continues to conduct business\nactivities in accordance with regulator directives while prioritising\nthe principle of prudence.<\/p>\n<p>Any potential impacts from policies will be managed through strict\ninternal risk management. This includes the implementation of a risk\nappetite framework, the presence of an independent credit committee, and\nthe strengthening of capital and liquidity structures to ensure business\nexpansion remains prudent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBanks fundamentally continue to follow the policies of the Financial\nServices Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI), but limit their\nimpacts through internal risk management,\u201d he told Kompas.com on Monday\n(20\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>This situation has been anticipated by BTN through adequate liquidity\nreserves, access to funding from the central bank, and deposit\nprotection by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, to maintain customer trust, the banking industry is also\nrequired to be transparent and responsive in conveying information,\nespecially amid the prevalence of narratives that could lead to\nmisconceptions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe emphasise that the banking system has layered protections, so\nfundamentally, customer funds remain safe and there is no need to\nwithdraw them in panic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In line with that, coordination with the government and relevant\nauthorities is also being strengthened so that business activities\ncontinue to operate in accordance with the principle of prudence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to conducting business by upholding the principle\nof prudence with disciplined risk management,\u201d said Hera to Kompas.com\non Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, OJK is preparing a Draft OJK Regulation (RPOJK)\nregarding adjustments to the Bank Business Plan (RBB).<\/p>\n<p>OJK Commissioner Chairman Friderica Widyasari Dewi revealed that in\nthe new regulation, OJK will design RBB provisions to further encourage\nbanks to actively support government priority programmes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are designing the RPOJK for adjustments to the RBB provisions.\nWithin it, how we support banks to also engage more in government\npriority programmes,\u201d she said at Menara Bank Mega, Jakarta, on Tuesday\n(7\/6\/2026).<\/p>",
