        "content": "<p>CNBC Indonesia held the Regional Bank Summit 2026 with the theme\n\u2018Strategic Transformation of Regional Development Banks in Driving\nNational Development\u2019 as a strategic discussion forum bringing together\nregulators, leaders of Regional Development Banks (BPD), and\nstakeholders to discuss the institutional transformation of BPDs to\nsupport national development and the economy.<\/p>\n<p>President Director of Bank Jakarta and Chairman of ASBANDA, Agus\nHaryoto Widodo, is optimistic about Indonesia\u2019s economic growth, which\nreached 5.29% in the second quarter of 2026, also reflected in the\npositive performance of the banking sector, which has been able to\nmaintain growth in assets, credit, and profitability.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s economic growth is supported by public consumption and\ngovernment stimulus, in line with banking performance that has managed\nto keep credit growth rising to 12.67% as of June 2026, primarily driven\nby investment credit and working capital credit, followed by consumer\ncredit. On the other hand, BPDs are observing caution among business\nactors in expanding.<\/p>\n<p>In line with Bank Jakarta, President Director of Bank Jatim, Winardi\nLegowo, assessed that Indonesia\u2019s economic growth performance in the\nfirst half of 2026 reflects that economic fundamentals remain strong and\nare able to support the banking industry amid considerable global\nuncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the first half of 2026, Bank Jatim was able to maintain\nasset and profit growth, although third-party funds (DPK) remained a\nchallenge. On the other hand, Bank Jatim was able to optimise BPD\nsynergy through the Bank Jatim Kelompok Usaha Bank (KUB), which consists\nof Bank NTB Syariah, Bank NTT, Bank Banten, Bank Sultra, and Bank\nLampung, to strengthen the foundation of the banking structure in\nenhancing BPD competitiveness.<\/p>",
