        "content": "<p>Bank Jateng is supporting the financing ecosystem and banking\nservices for prospective Indonesian migrant workers through the SMK Go\nGlobal programme.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Jateng President Director Bambang Widyatmoko said in Semarang on\nWednesday that the SMK Go Global programme presents an opportunity for\nbanks to play a broader role in supporting the readiness of prospective\nmigrant workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only through financing, but also through integrated financial\nservices,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the programme is not solely an effort to improve\nworkforce competence and readiness, but also forms part of the financing\necosystem and banking services for prospective Indonesian migrant\nworkers.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed hope that SMK Go Global will be able to produce a young\ngeneration that is competent, work-ready, independent and competitive at\nthe global level.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Jateng\u2019s support, he continued, is provided from the initial\nstage of participants joining the programme, starting from account\nopening, education on banking services and remittances, through to the\ndisbursement of placement financing for participants who meet the\nrequirements.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that Bank Jateng continues to apply prudential principles\nby considering the certainty of placement and employment contracts of\nparticipants in the disbursement of financing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn providing financing, certainty of placement or employment\ncontracts is of course required,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Jateng, he continued, also sees the potential of migrant worker\nremittance transactions as an important part of building a sustainable\nfinancial services ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to build a sustainable ecosystem, from account opening,\nremittance transactions, placement financing, through to when migrant\nworkers return to Indonesia and start building businesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The SMK Go Global programme targets the preparation of 500,000\ncompetent workers for various sectors with job opportunities in the\nglobal market.<\/p>\n<p>For the Central Java region, the programme targets 6,800\nparticipants, divided into Batch 1 of 1,660 people and Batch 2 of 5,140\npeople.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for the programme has been open since 12 August 2026,\nwith training scheduled to begin on 26 August 2026 and an initial\nplacement target at the end of September 2026.<\/p>",
