Bank Indonesia to close transactions for a week<\/p>\n

In relation to the upcoming Idul Fitri holiday, the central
\nbank announced on Tuesday that it all banking transactions would
\nclose for a week starting on Nov. 24.<\/p>\n
Bank Indonesia would resume normal banking transactions on
\nDec. 1, a press statement said.<\/p>\n
The central bank policy is in accordance with the government's
\npolicy on the long holiday.<\/p>\n
Idul Fitri will officially fall on Nov. 25 and 26, but the
\ngovernment has obliged civil servants to take their annual leave
\nuntil the end of the week, a move that leaves most private
\ncompanies with little choice but to follow.<\/p>\n
The central bank's announcement means that there will be no
\nbusiness activities in bank offices throughout the country during
\nthat period.<\/p>\n
However, for customers wishing to conduct personal banking
\nactivities such as cash withdrawals, fund transfers between bank
\naccounts and bill payments, they can still do so through
\nautomated teller machines (ATMs) or by internet banking.<\/p>\n
Many banks even have officers who will monitor the status of
\nATMs 24 hours a day, to anticipate whether or not the ATMs need
\nrefilling.<\/p>\n
Those services will come on top of the online operators, who
\nare supposedly on call for 24 hours, provided by the banks.<\/p>",
