        "content": "<p>Bank Bira's profit rises<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Bank Bira, a private bank listed on the Jakarta<br>\nStock Exchange, yesterday reported a 48.59 percent increase in<br>\nits net profit in the first nine months to Rp 20.83 billion<br>\n(US$9.1 million) from Rp 14.02 billion in the same period of<br>\n1994.<\/p>\n<p>The bank said in a financial report that its revenues from<br>\noperations in the January-September period increased by 73.49<br>\npercent to Rp 30.80 billion.<\/p>\n<p>However, its provision for income tax surged to Rp 10.55<br>\nbillion in the January-September period from only Rp 3.30 billion<br>\nin the sale period of last year.<\/p>\n<p>The report said that the bank's total assets sharply increased<br>\nto Rp 1.52 trillion as of the end of September from Rp 927.50<br>\nbillion as of September 1994.
