        "content": "<p>Bank Bira gets award<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Hong Kong-based magazine Finance Asia has<br>\ngranted Indonesia&apos; publicly-listed Bank Bira &quot;best domestic<br>\ninvestment bank&quot; award.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Financial Advisor of the bank Parveen Gandhi said<br>\nyesterday it was the first time for an Indonesian bank to be<br>\ngranted such award.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This is a prestigious award for Bank Bira,&quot; Gandhi said<br>\nadding that Bangkok Bank of Thailand had earlier been awarded a<br>\nsimilar award by the magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Bira, which arranged a loan syndication worth US$1.8<br>\nbillion in 1996, was also ranked in the second place in the<br>\ninternational financial market for Indonesian debts by the<br>\nInternational Financing Review throughout last year after<br>\nDeutsche Morgan Grenfell in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Cyprus-based Capital Intelligence rating<br>\nagency recently awarded Bank Bira a rating of A-3 and BB+ for<br>\nshort-term and long-term outlook.
