Bank Bali's case tip of the iceberg<\/p>\n

Having observed the Bank Bali case since its disclosure by Mr.
\nPradjoto, we from the Sekar Tiara non-governmental organization
\nfeel called upon to convey our support and admiration for all his
\nefforts.<\/p>\n
In our opinion the Bank Bali case is only the tip of the
\niceberg of many decaying economic pillars in Indonesia of the New
\nOrder regime.<\/p>\n
It is still fresh in our minds that social safety network
\nfunds to alleviate poverty did not reach those to whom the funds
\nwere addressed.<\/p>\n
Our NGO has observed that in the context of restoring the
\nrural community's economic situation, many government programs as
\nwell as direct aid from donor institutions have been
\nmisappropriated by both the central and the regional bureaucracy.
\nFor this reason we appeal to fellow NGOs all over Indonesia to
\ntry to collect more data and submit it to the proper institutes
\nso that all forms of irregularities affecting the people's
\nsufferings can be terminated.<\/p>\n
With regard to Bank Bali, we are convinced that there are many
\nmore cases in national banking which have not yet been disclosed
\nin a transparent way. This impacts enormously on the national
\nbanking recapitalization program and will finally make it harder
\nfor the already strapped Indonesian economy to recover.<\/p>\n
Especially in regards to Mr. Pradjoto, whom we have known for
\nmore than 15 years, we trust that \"Pradjoto will remain the same
\nman we have known and will always be committed to justice\". We
\nstrongly believe that he will maintain his fight against
\ninjustices. He must be convinced that God will protect him and
\nhis family in ways we will never come to know.<\/p>\n
Good luck! Even with our limitations we are ready to help him
\nin whatever way we can.<\/p>\n
