Bank Bali introduces debit card<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Bank Bali introduced yesterday a card that
\nallows its holders to purchase goods in designated stores while
\ntheir spending is deducted directly from their accounts.<\/p>\n
Vice president of Bank Bali Gandakusuma who launched the
\nBaliAccess Debit Card Maestro International at Hero Supermarket
\nsaid the card will prove very convenient for Bank Bali clients as
\nthey won't need to carry around lots of cash when they go
\nshopping.<\/p>\n
\"But the card also brings budget discipline as the card
\nholders can shop only up to the amount kept at their accounts at
\nBank Bali,\" he added.<\/p>\n
He said that the card will soon be accepted by thousands of
\nmerchants throughout the country.<\/p>\n
Hero's Director Anton Lukmanto welcomed the introduction of
\nthe new facility, saying \"the card enables us to fulfill our
\ncommitment to steadily improve services to our customers.\"<\/p>\n
The BaliAccess Card holders can also buy goods in shopping
\ncenters overseas that bear the logo of Debit Card Maestro
\nInternational, an affiliate of MasterCard International, which
\nhas business ties with Bank Bali.<\/p>\n
The card holders can also use their cards to take cash from
\nhundreds of thousands of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) world
\nwide, which are related to the International Cirrus system,
\nanother affiliate of MasterCard.(09)<\/p>",
