        "content": "<p>Yesterday at 8:05 PM WITA, we received confirmation of the sad\nnews.<\/p>\n<p>Banjarmasin (ANTARA) \u2013 A Hajj pilgrim from Banjarmasin Embarkation in\nSouth Kalimantan has passed away while performing the wukuf ritual in\nArafah, Saudi Arabia, during the 1447 H \/ 2026 M Hajj season.<\/p>\n<p>H Eddy Khairani, Chairman of the Hajj Pilgrimage Service Team (PPIH)\nfor Banjarmasin Embarkation, confirmed the news in Banjarbaru on\nTuesday, identifying the deceased as Maniah Abdullah Ibai (64), a\npilgrim from West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>A member of Kloter 05 from Banjarmasin Embarkation was confirmed to\nhave passed away during the wukuf ritual at Arafah on Monday, 25 May\n2026, at approximately 1:25 PM Saudi Arabia Time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received confirmation of the sad news yesterday at 8:05 PM WITA.\nOn behalf of the entire South Kalimantan Regional Ministry of Hajj and\nUmrah and Banjarmasin Embarkation PPIH family, we extend our deepest\ncondolences to Maniah Abdullah Ibai, a pilgrim from West Kotawaringin,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Eddy Khairani also urged all Kloter officers to repeatedly remind\npilgrims to drink sufficient water to avoid dehydration, which can occur\nunexpectedly.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the cause of death, Kloter 05\u2019s Health Officer, Dr.\u00a0Tania,\nstated that the deceased initially complained of shortness of breath,\noxygen saturation of 85% without supplemental oxygen, and refused\nfood.<\/p>\n<p>She was referred to Al Noor Hospital and treated for five days before\nbeing cleared to return to her Kloter. Upon arrival at Arafah, her\ncondition worsened with shortness of breath and she was transferred to\nan Arafah clinic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the clinic, intravenous fluids and medication were administered,\nbut unfortunately, she passed away due to cardiac arrest, respiratory\ndistress, and pneumonia,\u201d Dr.\u00a0Tania explained.<\/p>\n<p>This brings the total number of Banjarmasin Embarkation pilgrims who\nhave died during the holy pilgrimage to two.<\/p>\n<p>The Banjarmasin Embarkation in South Kalimantan has dispatched 19\nKloters this Hajj season \u2014 14 from South Kalimantan and five from\nCentral Kalimantan \u2014 totalling 6,804 pilgrims.<\/p>",
