Regent Sedana Arta,\nin a press release during a coordination meeting of regional expert\nstaff across Bali held in Bangli on Monday, called for other regencies\nto provide environmental compensation to Bangli for its role as the\nupper watershed in Bali. He hopes this compensation will prevent fiscal\nimbalances across Bali. He also stressed the importance of environmental\nmanagement as part of disaster mitigation. Bangli\u2019s Public Works,\nSpatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Area Department Head Dewa Agung\nPutra Suryadarma explained that key discussion points included\nstrengthening land use regulation, maintaining environmental capacity\nand carrying capacity. Additionally, formulating strategic policy\nrecommendations for regents and mayors to map and minimise natural\ndisaster risks.
