        "content": "<p>\u201cWe are working with BRIN to research and conserve the forest\nrambutan, an endemic plant,\u201d said Sugiantoro, head of the botanical\ngarden team.<\/p>\n<p>The forest rambutan, Nephelium cuspidatum, is threatened with\nextinction on Bangka Island as forests are converted for palm oil and\nrubber plantations, mining and settlements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, Tua Tunu Botanical Garden has only three forest rambutan\ntrees.
