Imam Soejoedi, Expert Staff for Macroeconomics at the Ministry of\nInvestment\/BKPM, expressed optimism that the economic growth of Bangka\nBelitung Islands Province could reach 8 per cent, provided it is driven\nby the right strategy, particularly through optimising investment\nchannels, which could add new sources of revenue.<\/p>\n
The statement was made by Imam whilst serving as a speaker at a\nNational Seminar entitled \u201cA Leader\u2019s Breakthrough: Saving the Economy\nand Regional Finances on Tin Island\u201d, held to commemorate the 26th\nanniversary of Bangka Pos and the 24th anniversary of Pos Belitung on\nMonday (26\/5\/2025).<\/p>\n
\u201cSo now, if consumption is somewhat sluggish, then push economic\ngrowth through investment. Because from investment, there is income that\ngets absorbed,\u201d Imam told seminar participants.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Imam suggested that regional governments should have\nseveral key focuses as priority targets in the near term.<\/p>\n
\u201cPriorities should not be too many \u2014 three is sufficient. The first\npriority is to achieve economic growth of 6 to 8 per cent, and to get\nthere, we could prepare human resources \u2014 they must be educated, and\nafter graduating, their skills should match industry needs,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Imam stated that human resource preparation is one of the key\nelements in building an investment ecosystem, alongside the availability\nof land or sites to accommodate investment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will also prepare the locations, and as for permits, we will\narrange those. For instance, if an industrial estate is needed, we are\nready to help provide that,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
He noted that if collaboration is carried out well by all relevant\nstakeholders, it would produce extraordinary results for Bangka Belitung\nin the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must prepare now \u2014 identify the advantages we have here, prepare\nour human resources.
