The preparation represents the local government’s commitment to
providing excellent service to travellers departing Bangka Island
through Tanjungkalian Port, said Bangka Barat Regent Markus in Mentok on
Wednesday.

As part of the preparations, the regency has coordinated with
numerous relevant agencies to ensure cross-sectoral readiness in
supporting smooth mudik traffic flow and maintaining public security and
comfort during the Lebaran period.

Comprehensive preparation for the mudik exodus is essential,
involving all parties from security to public services. “We must ensure
complete readiness through cross-sectoral coordination, covering
security, transportation, healthcare services and price controls of
essential goods. Everything must be well-prepared so people can
celebrate Eid with safety and comfort,” said the Regent.

As a strategic hub for population movement, Tanjungkalian Port is the
primary focus of mudik preparations. The buffer terminal is crucial for
providing rest areas for drivers waiting for ship boarding schedules,
whilst preventing vehicles from queuing on main roads that could pose
safety hazards.

When vehicle queues surge, they will be accommodated at the buffer
terminal on spacious land adjacent to the port, equipped with various
supporting facilities for traveller comfort.

The local government and relevant agencies have prepared multiple
contingency scenarios to address potential increases in passengers and
vehicles. These include establishing integrated service and security
posts, healthcare services and public facilities for mudik
travellers.

The integrated posts will involve TNI, Polri, ASDP and relevant
agencies to provide maximum service to the public during the Lebaran
mudik period. The Health Service has prepared medical personnel,
ambulances and referral hospitals on 24-hour standby, whilst the
Transportation and Public Works Service ensures readiness of
transportation infrastructure including traffic signs, road markings,
warning lights and street lighting in good condition.

The Civil Service Police support security and ensure public facility
availability at the buffer terminal, the Environmental Service prepares
sanitation facilities at crowded points, and the Disaster Management
Agency has mobilised rapid response teams to anticipate potential
disruptions from extreme weather.

ASDP Tanjungkalian Port has prepared numerous ferry vessels for
crossings, including large-capacity ships. Travellers are urged to
purchase tickets online before arriving at the port to avoid vehicle
queues and expedite departures.
",
