Bandung to host U-18 soccer finals<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Bandung-based Persib has been chosen as the host for
\nthe four-way final of the Bogasari Under-18 Soccer League, which
\nwill run from Oct. 13 to Oct. 18.<\/p>\n
The other three teams -- PSIS of Semarang, Persijap of Jepara
\nand Persijatim of East Jakarta -- had initially competed to host
\nthe matches. A total of Rp 65 million will be on offer.<\/p>\n
Ronny Pattinasarani said that the choice of Bandung was based
\non commercial considerations with advice coming from the sponsors
\nand the national soccer governing body, the PSSI.<\/p>\n
The four teams qualified for the final after winning their
\nrespective group matches, which involved 12 teams. Persijatim had
\npreviously threatened to boycott the event if it was not named
\nthe host. There has been no confirmation yet on whether it has
\nbacked down on this threat.<\/p>\n
\"We urge Persijatim to accept the decision and participate in
\nthe finals. Anyway, we will proceed with the event as scheduled,
\nwith or without Persijatim,\" Ronny said here on Friday. --JP<\/p>\n

\npresented with the honor next week by the president of the Asian
\nCycling Federation and member of the UCI management board Darshan

The UCI said that during 22-years as prime minister, Mohamad,
\nthe current chairman of the Organization of Islamic Countries,
\nhad supported the development of cycling and was instrumental in
\nthe founding of the Tour de Langkawi, one of Asia's most
