        "content": "<p>The Bandung City Government has launched mental health services for\nthe public at the sub-district level through the Bandung Utama Bagja\nSararea (Bangbara) programme, which was first introduced in the\nUjungberung Sub-district.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, stated that the service serves\nas a solution to provide more accessible psychological counselling to\nthe community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday we are launching a new service, starting with the Ujungberung\nSub-district. This is a service to provide psychological counselling to\nthe public, supported by the Health Office and the Women\u2019s Empowerment\nand Child Protection Office,\u201d Farhan said in Bandung on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Bangbara was created to serve as a safe space for\nresidents in need of psychological support, ranging from managing stress\nand prolonged grief to various other mental health issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal is, of course, to provide counselling spaces for community\nmembers experiencing stress, those who need someone to talk to, or even\nthose experiencing prolonged sadness. Simply come to the Ujungberung\nSub-district,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Farhan hopes that this service can serve as a pilot programme and be\nexpanded to all sub-districts across Bandung City.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that mental health services have become an increasingly\nurgent need as psychological issues within the community continue to\nrise.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the increase in cases of violence against women and\nchildren is also a key reason for the importance of strengthening\npsychological assistance services at the local level.<\/p>\n<p>Farhan revealed that the results of last year\u2019s Free Health Check\nprogramme also indicated mental health issues among students in Bandung\nCity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the results of last year\u2019s free health check survey, we found\nthe fact that tens of thousands of children, from primary to high\nschool, are experiencing mental health disorders, ranging from mild\nstress to severe depression,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Health Office, Sony Adam,\nsaid that information regarding the regional psychologist services will\nbe widely disseminated through community health centres (Puskesmas),\nPosyandu cadres, and neighbourhood association (RW) officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInformation will be conveyed through Puskesmas and spread to\nPosyandu cadres and RW officials. Eventually, the public can register to\naccess these services. This information will spread throughout Bandung\nCity so that the community can benefit from it,\u201d said Sony.<\/p>",
