Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that as of the\nend of July 2026, no drought emergency status has been declared, as\nwater tanker distribution continues to operate routinely to fulfil\ndemand. \u201cSo far, there are areas beginning to experience drought, but\neverything is still manageable through water tanker distribution. No\nemergency status has been reported,\u201d he said on Monday (27\/7). Farhan\nexplained that the eastern part of Bandung City, including Ujungberung\nand Cibiru sub-districts, is most vulnerable to drought. However, the\ngovernment has prepared anticipatory measures through regular clean\nwater deliveries. \u201cAlmost every day, at least one water tanker is\ndispatched to a neighbourhood in need. So far, the community\u2019s needs are\nstill being adequately met,\u201d he explained. The Bandung City Government\nis not solely relying on tankers from the municipal water company,\nPerumda Tirtawening, but is also receiving support from the Indonesian\nNational Armed Forces (TNI) and other water sources. \u201cTanker\ndistribution is handled by the PDAM, while the provision of clean water\nfacilities is also assisted by the TNI and various other sources.\nAlhamdulillah, this collaboration is running well,\u201d he affirmed. Farhan\nnoted that this preparedness is to ensure residents do not face\ndifficulties obtaining clean water as rainfall decreases. He\nacknowledged that several areas in East Bandung have water sources\nutilized by various parties, so the government continues to monitor the\nwater supply situation for the community. \u201cNevertheless, water\ndistribution has so far been able to anticipate residents\u2019 needs.
