BancBali to expand target markets<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Insurance company PT Prudential BancBali Life
\nwill further expand its insurance services into the low and
\nmiddle markets in a bid to boost future revenues, the groups
\nnewly appointed president Kevin Holmgren (left) said here on
\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
\"There are substantial opportunities in the middle to lower
\nmarkets, which was found in Malaysia as well, and we will pursue
\nthat strategy in the near future,\" he said in a media briefing
\nhere.<\/p>\n
Replacing Ed Navarro, Holmgren assumed the position as of Jan.
\n1, after previously heading Prudential's agency development, and
\nhas had over 18 years experience in the life insurance industry.<\/p>\n
In Indonesia, Holmgren said that he would explore the
\npotential of life insurance for the middle to lower markets,
\nwhile continuing to improve services for Prudential BancBali's
\ntraditional middle and upper market.<\/p>\n
Prudential BancBali chief financial officer Richard Taylor
\n(right) said that London-based Prudential Plc. injected
\nadditional capital of Rp 14 billion into BancBali, raising its
\ntotal paid-up capital to Rp 75 billion.<\/p>\n
With the additional capital Prudential's share in Prudential
\nBancBali increased from 80 percent to 91 percent, with nine
\npercent owned by Bank Bali, he said.<\/p>\n
Holmgren and Taylor were accompanied by Nini Sumohandoyo,
\nPrudential BancBali's assistant vice resident for corporate
