Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar\nParty faction, former Speaker of the People\u2019s Consultative Assembly and\nDeputy Chairman of Golkar, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet), has received the\nCentral Java Inspirational Figure 2026 award organised by Berlian\nOrganizer together with the Central Java Journalists Association.<\/p>\n
The award was presented during an appreciation evening held at Wisma\nPerdamaian, Semarang, on Friday night (28\/8\/26), as a form of\nrecognition for figures from various fields deemed to have demonstrated\ndedication, achievement and contribution to society. Bamsoet was one of\n13 award recipients drawn from politics, government, law, education,\nmaritime affairs, public services, economics and business, motorsport,\nand the creative industries.<\/p>\n
\u201cI accept this award with gratitude as well as a growing sense of\nresponsibility. For me, this award serves as a reminder that every\nmandate given by the public must be repaid with work, ideas and\ncontributions that can be felt in tangible ways. Central Java has\nenormous potential and I want to continue playing a part in driving\nregional progress and the welfare of its people,\u201d said Bamsoet on Monday\n(31\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
He considered the award particularly meaningful because it was given\nby the press and members of the public who have followed the journeys\nand contributions of figures across various fields. Appreciation of this\nkind, he said, should be treated as a form of respect as well as\nself-evaluation so that recipients maintain consistency in their\nwork.<\/p>\n
This is especially important as Central Java faces complex\ndevelopment challenges, ranging from strengthening the regional economy,\nimproving the quality of human resources, creating jobs and reducing\npoverty, to achieving more equitable development across regions.<\/p>\n
\u201cCentral Java is one of the key provinces in the national development\nmap. Therefore, Central Java\u2019s progress must not be measured solely by\neconomic growth, infrastructure development or incoming investment. The\nultimate measure is whether the public obtains decent jobs, better\neducation, accessible public services and broader economic\nopportunities. That is the true measure of development success,\u201d said\nBamsoet.<\/p>\n
Bamsoet explained that data from Statistics Indonesia shows Central\nJava\u2019s poverty rate in March 2026 stood at 9.21 percent, down 0.18\npercentage points compared with September 2025. The decline deserves\nappreciation, but a poverty rate still above nine percent indicates that\nsignificant development work remains.<\/p>\n
The challenge is all the more pronounced because poverty does not\nstand alone; it is closely linked to job quality, education,\nproductivity, access to capital, health and inequality of economic\nopportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cCentral Java possesses strong social and economic capital to\naccelerate development. The province has a growing manufacturing base,\nextensive agricultural areas, tourism potential, a creative economy,\nMSMEs, and universities that can serve as sources of innovation.
