Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 House of Representatives Commission III member\nBambang Soesatyo has called President Prabowo Subianto a unifying figure\nwhose leadership has embraced political rivals.<\/p>\n
\u201cPak Prabowo is consistent between his words and actions, which gave\nbirth to this book, \u2018Common Sense Politics,\u2019 a reflection on leadership\nthat unites, embraces, and bridges \u2014 because in truth, politics is\nsomething that must be continually nurtured. Bamsoet cited President Prabowo\u2019s leadership in successfully\nembracing political rivals through the granting of abolition to former\nTrade Minister Tom Lembong and amnesty to Indonesian Democratic Party of\nStruggle (PDIP) Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can see something rather unusual there \u2014 when his opponents,\nwhose names need not be mentioned, who once labeled him, were suddenly\nembraced, suddenly given positions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bamsoet said that in the national political landscape, both figures\nwere political opponents who stood on the opposite side from Prabowo\nduring the 2024 Presidential Election. Both, Bamsoet said, were granted\npardons while entangled in corruption cases \u2014 Tom Lembong was given\nabolition and Hasto was pardoned through amnesty.<\/p>\n
