Bambu Apus case to start soon<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The East Jakarta Prosecutors' Office will soon
\nsubmit the dossiers of the multiple murder case in Bambu Apus, to
\nthe district court.<\/p>\n
Head of the East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office Lukman Bachmid
\ntold The Jakarta Post over the weekend that his office had set up
\nthree teams to handle the trial of the murder of the wife and
\nthree children of a teacher.<\/p>\n
The first team led by Prosecutor Saleh Abdul Rahman will
\nprosecute the main suspect, Philipus Kia Lanjar, 44, and
\nProsecutor Hatta Rinuad will lead the second team for Philipus'
\nwife, Suparni. Philipus' sons and nephew will be prosecuted by
\nthe third team led by Mirza Yanuar.<\/p>\n
\"So there will be three separate trials for the case,\" Lukman
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
As many as 11 witnesses will be heard in the trial, including
\nRohadi, the teacher whose wife and three children were killed.<\/p>\n
The brutal killings at Rohadi's house on October 2nd were
\nallegedly instigated by Philipus, a security guard at a private
\nschool. He was angry with Rohadi's children who had destroyed the
\ncassava trees he had planted near the victims' house.<\/p>\n
At around 9 am of that day, the five suspects went to the
\nvictims' house, allegedly bringing sharp weapons with them.<\/p>\n
Philipus then instructed his companions (his wife, two sons
\nand a nephew) to pretend to work at the plot near the house,
\nwaiting for the right moment, according to the dossier.<\/p>\n
A few minutes later, Rohadi's wife Ely Kusnaely, with her
\neight-month-old child, Erika, went out to buy peanuts at nearby
\nstall. Philipus and his group entered the house at that time.<\/p>\n
He and the three young suspects, with the help of his wife
\nSuparmi allegedly stabbed Rohadi's children Gilang M. Fauzi, 8,
\nCitra Utami, 4, and Rizky Wahyu Ramadhan, 3.<\/p>\n
As Ely opened the door to her house with Erika in her arms,
\nthe suspects held her mouth closed, pushed her down to the floor
\nand stabbed her more than a dozen times.<\/p>\n
According to the prosecutor, Philipus is charged with
\npremeditated murder which violating article 340 and 55 of the
\nCriminal Code. He may face the death penalty or life imprisonment
\nif found guilty.<\/p>\n
The three young suspects, Albertus, 15, Lambertus, 12,
\nPhilipus' sons, and Clemence, 13, the nephew may be given special
\ntreatment due to their being minors. (29)<\/p>",
