        "content": "<p>Bali to get ambulances from ADB<\/p>\n<p>DENPASAR, Bali: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will donate<br>\n20 ambulances to Bali to help improve the province's health<br>\nservices, an official said here Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The ADB's assistance will be extended in 2004,\" head of the<br>\nprovincial health office, Made Molin Yudiasa, said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the provincial administration had allocated 13<br>\nambulances to community health centers in eight regencies and<br>\nmunicipalities on the island.<\/p>\n<p>\"The procurement of the ambulances is expected to help improve<br>\nBali's health service, particularly in dealing with traffic<br>\naccidents, which claim at least 400 victims a year,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Yudiasa said the Australian government will also donate Rp 43<br>\nbillion (US$5.11 million) to help the Denpasar General Hospital<br>\nacquire new health equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian government's assistance will be earmarked for<br>\nthe development of an intensive care unit for heart patients and<br>\nacquiring other equipment, he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Australian government would also offer<br>\nscholarships for 30 medical practitioners to enable them to<br>\npursue post-graduate studies in Australia. -- Antara<\/p>",
