Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2013 PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has officially\nintroduced an odd-even system for purchasing subsidised Pertalite at\npetrol stations across Bali, starting today, Saturday (17 October 2026).\nThe rules will remain in force for three days, until Monday (19 October\n2026).<\/p>\n
The policy responds to a letter from Bali Governor Wayan Koster dated\nFriday (16 October 2026) concerning measures to address long queues at\npetrol stations in Bali. The letter sets out six recommendations for the\nExecutive General Manager of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga\u2019s Jatimbalinus\nRegional Office.<\/p>\n
The following rules for purchasing subsidised Pertalite at petrol\nstations across Bali apply from 17 to 19 October 2026, according to\nPertamina Bali\u2019s official Instagram account:<\/p>\n
Maximum fuel limits<\/strong><\/p>\n Motorcycles may buy a maximum of three litres per transaction, while\ncars may buy up to 20 litres per transaction.<\/p>\n Odd-even system<\/strong><\/p>\n Pertalite purchases at all petrol stations in Bali must follow the\nfinal digit of the vehicle\u2019s number plate. Vehicles with odd-numbered\nplates may refuel on odd-numbered dates, and those with even-numbered\nplates on even-numbered dates.<\/p>\n Priority for emergency vehicles<\/strong><\/p>\n Petrol stations must provide faster access to emergency vehicles,\nincluding ambulances and fire engines.<\/p>\n Contents of the Bali Governor\u2019s letter<\/strong><\/p>\n The letter from the Bali Governor contains six points:<\/p>\n Odd-even system for subsidised fuel<\/strong><\/p>\n Subsidised fuel purchases at all petrol stations in Bali are to be\nregulated according to whether vehicle number plates are odd or even, in\norder to reduce congestion.<\/p>\n Scheduling refuelling for lorries<\/strong><\/p>\n Lorry fleets are to refuel at night to prevent large vehicles from\ncausing congestion during daytime operating hours.<\/p>\n Priority for emergency vehicles<\/strong><\/p>\n Petrol stations must provide ambulances and fire engines with faster,\nunobstructed access.<\/p>\n Quota limits and odometer records<\/strong><\/p>\n Subsidised fuel purchases are to be limited according to vehicle\ncriteria. A subsequent refill may only be made once fuel consumption has\nreached at least 70 per cent of the previous fill, based on odometer\nreadings.<\/p>\n Staffing enforcement and petrol-station\nsanctions<\/strong><\/p>\n Pertamina has been asked to take action against petrol stations that\ndo not fully staff operators at every pump nozzle. If violations\ncontinue, Pertamina will take over the station\u2019s operation and review\nits operating permit.<\/p>\n Service improvements and digital queue\nmanagement<\/strong><\/p>\n Pertamina has been instructed to extend operating hours, including\n24-hour supervision of petrol stations, add tanker trucks, ensure fuel\nstocks are available and introduce digital queue management.<\/p>",
