        "content": "<p>Denpasar, VIVA \u2013 Residents across several areas of Bali were left\nanxious after electricity suddenly went out on Sunday evening, 22\nFebruary 2026. The disruption occurred almost simultaneously in several\ndensely active areas including Badung Regency, Denpasar City, and\nTabanan Regency, prompting a flood of reports on social media and to\ncustomer service channels.<\/p>\n<p>PLN finally broke its silence and explained the cause of the\nincident. The blackout was confirmed not to be the result of a local\nfault, but rather a problem with the major transmission system\nconnecting the power supply from Java to Bali.<\/p>\n<p>PLN Bali Distribution Unit Communications Manager I Wayan Eka Susana\nconfirmed that the disruption to the Java\u2013Bali transmission network had\na direct impact on the electricity supply to the Island of the Gods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, 22 February 2026, a disruption occurred in the transmission\nsystem which caused part of the electricity supply to Bali to be\naffected, resulting in outages across several areas,\u201d said I Wayan Eka\nSusana in a statement in Denpasar on Sunday evening, as quoted by\nAntara.<\/p>\n<p>PLN moved swiftly to normalise the system. Technical teams were\ndeployed to restore the network whilst simultaneously tracing the source\nof the fault to prevent a recurrence. The recovery process was carried\nout in stages to maintain the stability of the electrical system.<\/p>\n<p>The efforts bore fruit in a relatively short time. PLN confirmed that\nthe entire electrical system in Bali was fully restored on Sunday\nevening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of 8.36pm WITA, the power supply has returned to 100 per cent\nnormal and the electrical system is stable across all areas of Bali,\u201d\nsaid Eka.<\/p>\n<p>PLN also extended its apologies to the public for the inconvenience\ncaused. The state-owned enterprise affirmed that network monitoring\nwould continue to ensure the reliability of the power supply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe apologise for the inconvenience experienced and express our\ngratitude for the understanding and patience of our customers,\u201d said\nEka.<\/p>\n<p>For customers still experiencing power disruptions, PLN urged them to\nreport immediately via Contact Centre 123 or the PLN Mobile application\nso that issues could be addressed promptly by field officers.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at approximately 7.47pm WITA and affected a\nnumber of areas in Badung, Denpasar, and Tabanan before the system was\nrestored to stability in less than one hour.<\/p>",
