Bali bomb suspect asks accomplices to surrender<\/p>\n
A key suspect in the deadly Bali bombing on Friday urged
\naccomplices who are still on the run to surrender and apologized
\nto Muslims worldwide for his action.<\/p>\n
\"To my friends who are still on the run, I ask you to join me
\nhere and surrender because our action was correct and we must
\naccount for it,\" Ali Imron told reporters outside his cell in
\nBali police headquarters in Denpasar.<\/p>\n
Imron has admitted he drove a van carrying the deadliest bomb
\npart of the way to the Sari Club in the Kuta resort area on
\nOctober 12.<\/p>\n
\"I apologize to Muslim clerics, scholars and Muslims worldwide
\nbecause my action has defiled the Islamic community. I also
\napologize to families of the victims,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Imron did not explain the reference to a \"correct\" action.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday he gave details of how the terror attacks were
\ncarried out, boasting of his group's bomb-making prowess but
\napologizing to families of the victims.<\/p>\n
\"We should be proud of the capability of our group as sons of
\nthe Indonesian nation. The mistake that needs to be pointed out
\nis the way we apply it,\" he said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
On Friday he challenged anyone who doubted his ability to
\nassemble bombs to come to him. \"I will explain (to them).\"<\/p>\n
Asked if he knew where his accomplices were, he said: \"If I
\nknew their locations, I and policemen would come to them.\"<\/p>\n
Ten people, including three Malaysians, are on the wanted list
\nover the Bali bombing, which killed more than 190 people. Thirty
\npeople including five key suspects are in detention.<\/p>\n
Investigators gave prosecutors Friday a 1,922-page file of
\nevidence against one of the key suspects, Amrozi, in preparation
\nfor a trial.<\/p>\n
Police say Amrozi has admitted buying the van which Imron
\ndrove and purchasing chemical ingredients for the bomb. -- AFP<\/p>",
