Bali air show<\/p>\n
Referring to the news report in The Jakarta Post of Aug. 23,
\n2001 edition entitled Bali to host international air show, I
\nwould like to make some corrections of inaccuracies found in the
\nreport.<\/p>\n
It was written: "... the Wisnu airfield originally belonged to
\nthe Dutch colonial air force". In fact the Wisnu airfield is a
\nnew airfield built by Buleleng Regency, which is located some 60
\nkilometers west of the regency capital, Singaraja. It has nothing
\nto do with the Dutch colonial air force.<\/p>\n
It is not true that Buleleng is the poorest regency in Bali.
\nBuleleng has been promoting tourism to boost its economic growth.
\nAgriculture and aquiculture also play a significant role in the
\nregency's economy. In addition, Buleleng is well-known for its
\nvariety of fruit, coffee and cloves.<\/p>\n
The building of the Wisnu airfield is an effort of Bululeng
\nregency to promote what it has to offer.<\/p>\n
