        "content": "<p>The bal\u00e9 gong at Pura Desa Lan Puseh Banjar Nyuh Kuning, Desa Mas,\nUbud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, collapsed on Wednesday, 4 March\n2026, after being drenched by heavy rain and battered by strong\nwinds.<\/p>\n<p>The collapse occurred last night at 23:30 WITA and was only reported\nthis morning at 07:30 WITA, according to Ubud Police Chief Kompol I\nWayan Putra Antara in a statement on Thursday, 5 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Antara said authorities attended the temple following reports. An\ninvestigation into the bal\u00e9 gong was conducted. The findings suggest the\nbuilding\u2019s foundation was likely fragile.<\/p>\n<p>Debris from the bal\u00e9 gong was cleared in the wake of the collapse\ncaused by the gusts. Fortunately, Pura Desa Lan Puseh Banjar Nyuh Kuning\nwas empty at the time, so there were no casualties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were no fatalities or injuries in the incident,\u201d Antara\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>While there were no casualties, physical losses are estimated at Rp\n300 million. The temple\u2019s caretakers or temple administrators from the\nlocal community are still determining the date of the traditional\nceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Antara urged residents to remain vigilant for heavy rains accompanied\nby strong winds, and to ensure the condition of buildings. \u201cWe urge the\npublic to stay alert to the potential of extreme weather, and to conduct\nregular checks of building conditions, particularly older structures, to\nprevent similar incidents,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
