Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Government\nCommunications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, has asserted that the\ncommunication of government policies and programmes is just as important\nas the implementation of those programmes and policies themselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunicating a programme is as important as the programme itself.\nTherefore, programme communication must be carried out so that support\nfor these programmes improves and the results are more optimal,\u201d said\nQodlar during the \u2018Public Relations Coordination Body (Bakohumas)\nCoordination Forum\u2019 in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Qodari stated that Bakom RI serves as the coordinator for government\ncommunications, which necessitates support from the public relations\ncommunities within ministries, agencies, and local governments.<\/p>\n
According to him, the government\u2019s public relations network, which is\nspread across Indonesia, possesses significant strength if coordinated\nand utilised optimally.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis public relations community, if all its components are totalled\nnationally, is actually quite large, comprising over 8,000 elements, and\nwe will coordinate them more optimally,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He noted that the rapid flow of information and the development of\nsocial media mean that the government cannot simply wait for specific\nmoments to convey information regarding policies and programmes.<\/p>\n
The government must maintain a routine communication agenda to ensure\nthat public information spaces are continuously filled with various\nupdates regarding government activities and programmes.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this current era, with such a heavy flow of information and the\nexistence of social media, the government cannot wait; it must have a\nroutine schedule and a communication agenda that keeps these information\nspaces continuously occupied,\u201d said Qodari.<\/p>\n
He added that the information provided should also demonstrate how\ngovernment programmes deliver a tangible impact to the community.<\/p>\n
In this way, government programmes are not merely understood as\npolicies or programmes on paper, but possess a face that represents the\npeople experiencing the benefits.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis ensures that programmes are not just programmes, but that they\nhave a face. Whose face?
