        "content": "<p>Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia responded to the KPK\u2019s\nproposal regarding the limitation of political party chairmen to two\nterms. Bahlil considered the proposal ordinary, as Golkar produces a new\nchairman at every national congress (Munas).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegarding the party chairman, I think each party has its own\ndifferent methods. In fact, in the Golkar Party, it\u2019s not two terms;\nthere\u2019s a new general chairman at every Munas. So it\u2019s normal in\nGolkar,\u201d Bahlil said after the Golkar Party Easter event at Tennis\nIndoor Senayan, GBK, Jakarta, on Friday (24\/4\/2026) evening.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil stated that it is not uncommon for Golkar chairmen to serve\nonly one term. According to him, if a Golkar chairman reaches two terms\nor more, it could be considered an achievement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it\u2019s set at two, it might not even reach two in Golkar, just one\nterm. Right? One, isn\u2019t it? Two would be luck. But if there\u2019s\nachievement, it might be more than that, wallahualam,\u201d Bahlil said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo for us in Golkar, our democracy isn\u2019t like the half-hearted kind\nin other places. But any aspiration is fine, no problem,\u201d\nhe stated.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that the KPK has conducted a study on political party\ngovernance to prevent corruption. One of them is the KPK\u2019s proposal for\na limitation on the leadership term of party chairmen to two\nperiods.<\/p>\n<p>This study was conducted by the KPK in 2025 through the Monitoring\nDirectorate. The KPK identified four points that need improvement in\nIndonesia\u2019s political party system and provided 16 recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo ensure the smooth running of cadre development, a regulation is\nneeded to limit the leadership term of the party chairman to a maximum\nof two periods,\u201d states one of the recommendations in the KPK\u2019s study\nresults, on Thursday (23\/4).<\/p>",
