Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources\nBahlil Lahadalia held a face-to-face meeting with Russian Energy\nMinister Sergey Tsivilev on Tuesday (15\/4\/2026). This meeting serves as\na follow-up to the high-level discussions between President Prabowo and\nRussian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin the previous day.<\/p>\n
In the forum, both parties discussed concrete opportunities for\nenergy cooperation that can be immediately followed up, particularly the\ncertainty of crude oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supplies.\nRussia expressed its readiness to support Indonesia\u2019s energy resilience,\nincluding supplies of oil and natural gas as well as storage. The\nmeeting was also attended by representatives from several Russian energy\ncompanies, including Rosneft, Ruschem, Zarubezhneft, and Lukoil.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, I have just finished a bilateral meeting with the Russian\nEnergy Minister to follow up on the agreements from the discussions\nbetween President Prabowo and President Putin. Alhamdulillah, what has\nbeen agreed upon has yielded quite good results, where we can increase\nour crude reserves. In addition, we will also be able to obtain LPG,\u201d\nsaid Bahlil, quoting his press release on Wednesday (15\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
Bahlil emphasised that the cooperation is being explored through\ngovernment-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) schemes,\nwhich are expected to provide certainty for the availability of national\nenergy reserves, particularly for crude oil and LPG in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Bahlil conveyed that Indonesia is open to\nexpanding the scope of collaboration with Russia, including the\ndevelopment of crude storage, long-term supplies of crude oil and LPG,\nnuclear exploration, and cooperation in the minerals sector.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want all of this to truly provide certainty for national energy\nresilience,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Bahlil assessed that the meeting\u2019s outcomes send a positive signal\nfor strengthening national energy resilience amid uncertain global\ndynamics. He views the partnership with Russia as an important option,\ngiven the country\u2019s substantial energy production capacity and its\nexperience in the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n
